Truth in advertising. Go to this site, pick a state and you get all sorts of resources for say, Masssachussetts. Who knows, maybe the Berkshire County: Assorted Vital Records (most are pre-1850) is just what you've been looking for. Many of these resources charge, but genealogy is big business and they own the stuff, they can charge for it. The American Way.
