I grew up with anatomy books that had transparencies stacked up to give you a view of every level of your innards. The classics. Then holy katzenjammers! Here's a photo of the cilia in your respiratory tract and they look like sea anemones, orange and purple and pink and yellow! Another book has a photo of beautiful, delicate kidney stone crystals. So lovely, yet so evil. And so much detail! Maybe I just want to know where my gallbladder used to be. Ah, as with so many things, anatomy books have changed since my youth.
